ScanToPDF Document Management Connectors |
Using some of our plug-ins we can create connectors to Document Management solutions that enable scanned PDF documents to be uploaded automatically to your Document Management accounts. Using this method we can connect to several of the leading document management solutions such as Google® Docs and Evernote®
Works With Evernote®
The evaluation solution provided on our website has been pre-configured to work with Evernote® by emailing the PDF document (using our SMTP plug-in). Before the file is sent to Evernote@ the user will be prompted to choose an Evernote® Notebook and enter tag values
Getting Started
Once you have created your Evernote® account (and optionally your Notebooks and Tags) you can setup the ScanToPDF Settings to enable you to scan into your account and set the Evernote® Notebook and Tags
Setting The Evernote® Email Address
When you set-up your Evernote® account you will have been provided with a unique email address. This needs to be set in the SMTP settings as follows
-
Start ScanToPDF
-
Click Edit
-
Click Options
-
Click the SMTP icon
-
Enter your SMTP server details into the "Mail server" TAB (your system administrator should be able to help you with those)
-
Click the "Message" TAB
-
Enter your "From Address"
-
Set the "To Address" to the unique email address provided you by Evernote®
-
We use the "Subject" field to set the values required by Evernote®, to set a notebook you precede the notebook name with a @ symbol, TAGS are set by preceding with # symbols
The evaluation example is set to use the values entered in the Document Indexing plug-in (the ScanToPDF variables are enclosed in curly braces {}), for example
{description} @{notebook} #{tag1} #{tag2} # {tag3}

Changing The TAGS Passed To The Evernote® Account
The evaluation has THREE tags pre-configured.
Adding a TAG
-
Start ScanToPDF
-
Click Edit
-
Click Options
-
Click the "Document Indexing" ICON
-
Click "Edit"
-
In the Name field enter the name of a new tag (you can use any)
-
In the prompt field enter a value for the prompt (the value displayed to help the user when the document is indexed)
-
Click the "Add" button
-
When finished click the File->Exit menu and "Save" when prompted
-
You can add the new tag by editing the Subject field in the SMTP plug-in (as described above) and adding the new tag, for example if we added a tag called "tag4" we would then set the subject to
-
{description} @{notebook} #{tag1} #{tag2} # {tag3} #{tag4}
-
To remove a TAG follow the instructions above to open the Document Indexing editor. Select the field you want to Delete by double-clicking it from the list at the bottom of the screen. When it is displayed click the "Remove" button
